A 12-year-old girl who'd been accidentally shot in the head at a range near Cle Elum died Monday after being taken off life support. The girl had been target-shooting Sunday with her mom and her mom's boyfriend and had placed her .22 caliber rifle on a railing at the range.

Her mom's boyfriend noticed the hammer was still pulled back on the rifle, but when he tried to release the hammer, the rifle fired, hitting the girl in the head.

The boyfriend performed CPR while the mother called 9-1-1.

The girl was airlifted to a Seattle hospital, but was taken off life support the next day.

If you want to help support the girl's family, there is a fundraiser to help pay her funeral expenses.
