The 124th edition of the Central Washington State Fair is over after the Yakima Valley enjoyed 10 days of fun and a chance to show off its bountiful agriculture and colorful heritage.

Now it's time for fair officials to start getting ready for next year.

Fair officials are hoping to make the 125th anniversary of the fair a special year, so they're inviting you call them and tell them anything you can about the event's history -- or maybe just a special story. The number is 248-7160.

As for the 2016 fair, did you enjoy it? The single largest day for attendance was this past Saturday at 59,551. The first Saturday saw 44,082 people. Last year more than 319,000 people attended the fair. Final numbers for the 2016 edition are expected later this week. Next year's fair is set for Sept. 22 through Oct. 1.
