This Sunday night, fans of the Seattle Seahawks will attempt to set a Guinness Book of World Records for the loudest stadium when they take on the visiting San Francisco 49'ers in a nationally televised game.

The former Kingdome and now Century Link Field have long been known to be some of the ear-piercingly loudest venues in all of professional sports (as evidenced by the seismic activity recorded back in 2010) but a group of fans what that title to be officially recognized.

While the attempt is not being sanctioned by the team itself, the instruction to fans in attendance via social media sites is to try to set the new mark - held currently by a soccer stadium in Turkey - when the 49'ers take the field on their first offensive possession.
