ESPN Seahawks reporter Terry Blount came up with five things to know about the Carolina Panthers when they head to Seattle on Saturday for their NFC Divisional Round playoff game.

Blount mentions that Carolina QB Cam Newton is 0-3 in his career against the Hawks and is one of many Panthers making their first visit to the cacophony that is the 12's and CenturyLink Field.

Analyzing the numbers, Blount brings up the fact that Carolina's five consecutive wins have come against four teams that had a combined 22-42 record.  The other team, the Arizona Cardinals, lost five out of their last seven games of the season including last weekend's Wild Card playoff match-up in which the NFC South champions became just the second team in NFL history to win a playoff game despite having a losing record in the regular season.  The other, of course, was the 2010 Seahawks who knocked off the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints despite only having a 7-9 mark.

Statistically, the Panthers DID rush for 114 yards against the stout Seattle defense but that also came at a time when the Hawks "D' was severely hampered by injuries to All-Pro LB Bobby Wagner and safety Kam Chancellor.
