If you already pay for phone service, tell these scam artists that you already "gave at the office," or that the "check is already in the mail."

Yakima County 9-1-1 Director Wayne Wantland has issued an official statement regarding a telephone scam that has hit Washington state, as well as others, warning citizens of fraudulent requests for funding the emergency service.

The caller claims that you must pay a fee to register your home in a database so that first responders can locate you in the case of an emergency.  they will also ask for names and medical information.

THIS IS A SCAM!
