AC/DC fans waiting on the edge of their seats for new music from the iconic band better get a little more comfortable. The band’s guitarist, Malcom Young, recently revealed in an interview that new music is in fact on its way…but it won’t see the light of day any time in the near future.

The last release from AC/DC was 2008′s ‘Black Ice,’ but Young says fans and followers should not look too closely into something said by lead vocalist Brian Johnson about new material being available as early as next year.

“You know what Brian’s like,” Young tells Classic Rock. “He just says things and then walks away. It’ll be a little while –- a year or two anyway [before we have a new album out]. I’ve been doing some jamming on some song ideas, but I do that all the time, as do the rest of the band. We are still working, but we had a long rest between ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ and ‘Black Ice,’ so I think we need a couple of years to recuperate and work on it a bit more.”

And what about the chances of another world tour to support the new album in the works? Not likely. At least we’re able to hang onto the glimmer of hope that we will have a new CD in the future!
