A fondly missed KATS employee and a great friend of mine, Rachel Thomson, was lucky enough to go and see the awesomeness of Aerosmith along with Slash opening at the Gorge this past Saturday. From what I understand it wasn't just a show but an experience! Kickin' off Aerosmith's set with "Love In An Elevator" & played roughly 17 songs with a mix of album cuts and big time fan favorites. I asked her to take time out of her vacation road trip to give me a quick write up, and she did not disappoint!

Aerosmith rocked the Columbia River Gorge Aug. 15, despite uncertainty if the show would go on after news broke that drummer Joey Kramer had suffered heart problems, which promoted cancellation of the band's show in Concord, CA earlier this week. Fortunately for Washington Aerosmith fans, Kramer's son, Jesse, filled in and received an eruption of cheers and applause. "You saved the day!" cried an exuberant Tyler.

Fans were also treated with encores of "Sweet Emotion" and "Dream On" in which guitarist Joe Perry stood atop Tyler's piano.

The opener was Slash featuring Miles Kennedy, formerly of Guns n Roses, and special guest Duff McKagan. McKagan is from Spokane. Included in their set were Velvet Revolver song "Slither", Guns n' Roses songs "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child of Mine" & new hits from Slash "You're A Lie" & "World On Fire".
