In conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day this Saturday (June 9) and Fishing Day on Sunday (June 10), Washington State Parks will not require a Discover Pass to visit a state park this weekend.

An annual Discover Pass runs $35 while a day pass costs $11.50.

There are four more free days scheduled in 2018:

  • Aug. 25 — National Park Service 102nd Birthday
  • Sept. 22 — National Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 — Veterans Day
  • Nov. 23 — Autumn day

These free days apply only to day use and not overnight stays or rented facilities. A Discover Pass will still be required on these days to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
