American Airlines Tells Man He Is Too Heavy To Stay On Flight

Chris Shelley who is an engineer from Huntington Beach, Calif., was asked to get his stuff and get off an American Airlines flight because an elderly woman didn't want to sit next to him.Reports from ABC say that the woman sat down next to Shelley and started to fidget. She got up and told an American Airlines attendant that she did not want to sit next to the man because of his weight.

The attendant, who apparently isn't very smart, told Shelley that he had to get his stuff and get off of the plane. The flight attendant didn't think far enough in advance to maybe tell the elderly woman that if she was uncomfortable she could certainly move.

How embarrassing for the man -- and the woman passenger. People like her give grouchy grandmas a bad name.
