AC/DC’s Angus Young Joins Guns N’ Roses at Coachella

AC/DC guitarist Angus Young joined Guns N' Roses onstage last night at Coachella to perform two of his own band's songs – and show people just what it's going to sound like when Axl Rose takes over as lead vocalist for the legendary Australian group.

(...which if you're just waking up, yes, that's really officially happening. And now it makes sense why they made that announcement so late on a Saturday night!)

Still using the throne he borrowed from Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl as he recovers from a broken foot, Rose introduced his new bandmate about two-thirds of the way into Guns N' Roses' headlining set: "Since I can't run around for you, we're going to bring out for a friend to put a little life into things for us. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Angus Young!" Young, Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan and company then launched into "Whole Lotta Rosie" (which you can see above) and then Powerage's mighty "Riff Raff" (which you can see below).

AC/DC hasn't been playing "Riff Raff" much recently, but it's always possible they'll add it to the set when Rose takes over as lead vocalist for the completion of the group's Rock or Bust tour, which will now begin May 7 in Libson, Portugal.

AC/DC has also promised to reschedule the 10 remaining U.S. dates on that tour, originally postponed when singer Brian Johnson was apparently forced to retire from live performances due to hearing damage, once Rose is done with Guns N' Roses' 20-city Not in This Lifetime... summer stadium trek.
