Anthrax Perform as Four-Piece Due to Scott Ian Ailment in Orlando
Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais is definitely being thrown into the fire. The musician has joined Anthrax's touring lineup after the exit of longtime axeman Rob Caggiano earlier this year, and during Friday's (April 12) performance in Orlando he stepped up by covering both Caggiano and fellow guitarist Scott Ian's parts during the show.
That's because Ian, who fell ill earlier in the day, was suffering from a bout with food poisoning. The guitarist was reportedly hospitalized overnight in Orlando while being treated for the ailment.
Rather than cancel the performance, which Anthrax rarely does, the band decided to forge on as a four-piece with Donais handling all of the guitar parts for the evening. Fan filmed footage of the performance can be seen below.
Anthrax are headlining the Metal Alliance tour, which is expected to continue through late April.
