Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris splits his time between Los Angeles and the Bahamas, and a house on his Cable Beach property was recently broken into by armed robbers. The incident happened in the early morning hours of Nov. 29, when a group of men sawed through chains on the front gate of a home on the property that was being used as an office and storage facility.

According to the property manager Charles Beall, there were flat screen TVs, appliances and other electronics inside the building. “They assaulted our caretaker, Philip Pierre, assaulted him, put a knife on his throat, and left him in a pool of blood wrapped in duct tape,” Beall tells Tribune 242. “They stole more than $8,000 worth of stuff, whatever they could carry.”

Pierre has been an employee on the property for 43 years. Beall says when employees of his company heard about the attack they were furious, and for three days helped canvas the island searching for the perpetrators.

“When we found out who these guys were, we met with police and the head of the criminal investigation division at Cable Beach police station,” Beall says. “They did an outstanding job, he gave me three of the best officers and they arrested one guy on Tuesday and on Thursday, four of us went and caught someone who confessed that he had a role in the beating and theft. We went into a building near his home and with police found much of the stolen goods.”

About $5,000 of the stolen goods have been recovered. No charges have been filed yet as police continue to look for another suspect. It’s not known if Harris was in the Bahamas when the robbery occurred and Beall says Harris would not want to comment on the incident. In addition, there is no update yet on the condition of Philip Pierre, the injured caretaker.
