I am originally from Los Angeles, but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. In between I spent two years of my childhood in Montana. One in Great Falls and the other in Havre. My mom married a Canadian when I was 9, and we moved to Canada. Because the winters in Edmonton were too damn cold, I moved back to California once I was 21. My radio career has taken me to Casa Grande, Ariz., and to Palm Springs, Fresno and San Luis Obispo, Calif., and back to Edmonton, and Yakima. I play poker, basketball and flag football in my free time. My claim to fame is that my wife Monica is sisters with the former Miss El Salvador 1996, who came in sixth in that year's Miss Universe competition. Of course I think my wife is prettier than her sister! I also have a 12-year-old daughter named Noel who is in junior high and was the fifth-grade champion high jumper.

Why Do People Say “Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner?”
When I play Texas Hold'em I hear other poker players say "Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner" when they have a winning hand. I was watching the Bills vs. Rams yesterday and I heard one of the announcers say the same thing. I've always wondered where in the hell that phrase came from...
Call In Sick Next Week Because You Can Play Golf For Pennies On The Dollar
We love our jobs here at KATS but you've heard the phrase "The worst day playing golf is better than the best day at work" haven't you. For us that usually doesn't apply but it does for most people I know.
Well the most luxurious golf course we have in the Yakima Valley is obviously Apple Tree...
Classic Vibrating Basketball Game Takes Me Back To My Childhood
Yes, we old folks had fun before video games came out. I came of age as video games were making their debut on the world market. Pong was a fixture at drugstore entrances when I was about 10 so I don't take being able to play Madden 17 on my iPhone for granted because my experience provides the context of how far we've come...
Handling “12” Jugs All At Once
Seahawks mania in these parts can be a little over the top. On top of all the Seahawks-logoed cars I've seen (some professionally done, some done by hand with spray paint) there is the "Sea-Fence" house, the giant "12" erected in PVC piping alongside Interstate 82 near Prosser and many other displays of fan pride...

Yakima: An International City
A couple of weeks ago I was driving down 16th Ave. and noticed these "villas" with the name 'Spanish Charm'. It transported me back to Spain. It reminded me of the Flamenco dancers of my youth. I thought I smelled paella and heard the Spanish guitar in my head...
If Safeco Field Were A Grocery Store Instead Of A Baseball Stadium What Would The Prices Be Like?
Having been to a Mariners game and experienced the prices for a beer and a tiny bowl of Dippin Dots I've often wondered in my tiny mind how that would translate if they sold for the same price in bulk if they were a grocery store instead. So this is the flyer Todd and I imagined the ad Safeco Superstore would circulate to advertise their "specials":
-Aquafina in the 24 pack just $96...

What Kind Of Truck Is This?
I've lived in Yakima a year and a half now. There are still things I'm learning such as how to pronouce Cowiche which I never seem to get right. The weekend before last I was driving around town and saw an odd kind of truck trailer I've never seen before...
Guess What Angel These Lips Belong To And You Could Pick Up A Pair Of Hinder Tickets
We know. It's hard to be faithful -- especially when the lips of an angel are involved.
But pucker up, buttercup. If you can give us a true answer here, you just might pick up a pair of tickets to Hinder's Sept. 28 show at the Central Washington State Fair.
Uber Is In Yakima Now!
Back in April I returned from a trip to California to visit family. Normally I have a ride setup from YKM but this time I wasn't so fortunate as my flight arrived a couple of hours late and the ride I had couldn't make it. I didn't want to pay $20 for a taxi so I downloaded the Uber app on my iPhone and found out that Uber wasn't servicing the Yakima area at that time...

Now You Can Make Your Scrotum Look Young Again!
This morning on the Todd & Andy Show during "The Freaks" segment I read a story about a new product called "Scrotox". Yes, it's just what it sounds like... Botox for your sack. If you're vain enough to need it here are the benefits according to an article on the UK's "Metro" website:
