Not that it comes as some great surprise, but Washington state's most iconic dessert is apple crisp. I would have thought apple pie first, but in a recent study, apple crisp took the cake ... so to speak.
Well, here we go again. Someone spent money on a study that we already knew. You shouldn't walk on escalators. You should just stand still and enjoy the ride because it slows down if you try to skip the steps.
Everyone needs something to pass the time. I am usually pretty busy, so I do not have time to play games or just search on Facebook like the average person. However, last weekend I came across one of the quizzes that Facebook has so I took it. Then I tried a few more. The results were hilarious!
My nephew Brandon was fishing in Wyoming a couple of days ago when a crane showed up. Why would a crane would be there right next to his favorite fishing hole, he wondered? What happened next was mind boggling.
For the most part, I think people try to do their best. Working hard really is in most of us. My whole life, I've tried to take on more than I should, so that I can improve myself. I have been fired from one job. A couple of weeks after it happened my so-called boss said that he needed someone to be an example. I thought that was a pretty lame excuse considering I wasn't even the one who made the mistake. Guilt by association shouldn't be a thing, but it is. After seeing how that boss handled things and the way he handled his other employees, it blows my mind that he even got the job in the first place. Should some bosses be bosses, or did they get the job by default?
Looks like it'll be a photo finish for the KATS Easter Keg Hunt -- the pictures are still coming in as listeners make their way out to grab a beer and snap a selfie with Yakima artist Josh Caffrey's handpainted keg.
Well, I'm glad this story didn't come from the Yakima Valley. I have complete faith in most everyone around here that they wouldn't take legal advice from a website. They would go to a better source than that, right?
It has been revealed. The crayon color that Crayola is taking out is Dandelion. I thought it was going to be the Apricot. Taking out Dandelion makes complete sense, though. It is very close to yellow. Apricot and Dandelion are the two colors that I really didn't use as a kid.
Reading is so important. It helps you improve your vocabulary and expand your mind. TV has really taken away from our imagination, that's for sure. It is also exciting when our libraries in the Yakima Valley come up with something new for us to discover -- especially new authors for us to read. Yakima Libraries is beginning a new series called "Authors Out Loud." How exciting!
It always cracks me up that in the midst of all the turmoil and problems our great nation faces, there is always something completely stupid that a politician does. I mean, how random is it that Republican Sens. Mike Enzi of Wyoming and Arizona's John McCain have introduced a bill that would do away with the penny?
