Good ol' St. Patrick's Day. Another reason for people who drink some of the time to get drunk in the middle of the work week. That is how I feel about it. Daylight Saving Time messes with people. Waking up and being ready for the work day when you are used to a certain amount of sleep doesn't help a person. When a drinking holiday is in the middle of a work week, it is 10 times worse, as far as I am concerned. Not this year -- March 17 falls on a Friday! Party time!
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things was to get the comics section of the newspaper and use my Silly Putty on it. Just in case you have no idea what Silly Putty is, it's almost like gum except, you don't eat it, you play with it. Mashing it on a colorful newspaper or magazine will imprint whatever you stick it on. This kept me busy for hours.
I have to admit it. When it comes to parking, I would rather walk a little bit than pay a big price. Unless it is for a safety reason, and then I might pay a little. But $300,000? Not a chance in heck. But there is a spot in Brooklyn, N.Y., that was sold most recently for $300,000 -- for just ONE spot!
It seems like every time I buy plastic food storage containers, I always lose them. But for the past year now, I have been reusing the to-go boxes I have gotten from local restaurants because it works.
A recent study has shown that chasing a hangover with more alcohol is the worst thing you could do. I have been wrong my whole life. When I have had hangovers, I always drank a bloody Mary to chase it away. I thought it worked. Hours later, though, when I was not drinking anymore, I DID still feel kind of bad.
I have shopped and eaten in many places in the Yakima Valley. There is always something different to see. Whether it has been in a store or a restaurant, there is always something cool. My most recent find was in the Peppermint Stick in Union Gap.
Stuck in traffic is never good. But, stuck because of an accident is even worse yet. The accident that happened on the I-5 near Seattle, wasn't a good scene. Road crew had to close down I-5 for nearly 8 hours to contain the oil tanker spill that had turned over. But, a fantastic 'Taco Truck' came to the rescue!
