I have been in radio a really long time. I don't think there is a song in any genre that I have not heard. I have met so many people who listen to the radio stations that I have worked at and heard so many people's opinions about the kind of music that whatever radio station I worked at, at the time played.
There is so much for bikers to do in Washington, and I had no idea. I always thought we had to travel outside of Washington to go to big rallies. We have Central Washington Bike Nights, which is quite fun and a good time. But where are all of the rallies?
We have a few more stops to make for our Central Washington Bike Nights, and the Buzz Inn Steakhouse In Ellensburg is next. Tuesday (July 25) we are buzzing to Ellensburg through the canyon for some serious fun!
Well, once again the Old Warehouse in Zillah didn't disappoint. Saturday night's concert featuring national recording artist Blacktop Mojo and our local band, Tempest, was over the top! Blacktop Mojo was utterly amazing, but Tempest was the surprise -- they rocked like I have never heard a local band rock before!
Children's Miracle Network is such an amazing cause. They help out the NIC unit at Virginia Mason Memorial, Children's Village and many other places in the Yakima Valley. And the really great thing about CMN is that the money stays local! All of us at Townsquare Media got to be part of the Children's Village Family/Radio Station Reveal party this week, and it was a blast!
I love airplanes, helicopters and anything that flies. I have the worst eyes, so I cannot fly a plane. The next best thing is remote-controlled aircraft. You still need to see, but at least you aren't putting any passengers at risk. HA! There is a really cool group from Yakima that has a ton of remote-controlled aircraft. They also do quite a bit of charity work. The Yakima Valley Aero Modelers head to Zillah this Saturday (July 22) for their Veterans Airlift event.
I grew up in Wyoming and I considered myself fairly lucky. I mean, there is some of the best hunting and fishing in the world there. Also, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone National Park, as well. We used to go to them all of the time. Until I moved to Washington, I thought Wyoming was the greatest state. Since I have lived in Washington, Wyoming now comes in second.
Central Washington Bike Nights did not disappoint at Sea Galley at the east end of Valley Mall Boulevard on Tuesday (July 18). We have nearly 100 bikes at the event and a ton of people who drove their car and trucks. It was packed inside and out. The hit of the night was oyster shooters.
I have never done an oyster shooter in my life and I have lived by some of the best places for oysters -- Philadelphia, Atlantic City, N.J., and even San Francisco. Never had one! Who would have thought that my first oyster shooter would have been in Yakima Washington! They were fantastic! I love those dead slimy little creatures. Jessi our sales lady who did one with me, did not share my same enthusiasm.
