Todd Lyons

My name is Todd E. Lyons. On the radio you probably know me as “Todd E. Lyons, Esquire.” Every morning, hundreds of women wake up with me. I have shared the airwaves in the mornings (6 to 9) with you since 1998, and look forward to it every day. I was born in Seattle, the son of a sharecropper. My family and I moved to the “Fruit Bowl of the Nation” when I was a wee lad of only 7. I spent my formative years in the West Valley of Yakima, indoctrinated in public school. I became keenly familiar with the “special” desk while attending Apple Valley Elementary. The teachers referred to it as the “isolation booth,” but I called it the “special desk.” Most of what I know today, however, can be credited to the “School of Hard Knocks.” I am extremely fortunate to work on the very radio station I grew up listening to. I loved listening to KATS so much when I was younger that I not only was a client, I became an employee! If you ever see me stumbling about this great valley of ours, please give me a shout. I would love to talk with you and find out what you think about 94.5 KATS!

As a youngster, I used to spend much of my free time drawing.  As an avid sports fan I would often choose athletes as my subjects.  By virtue of this, I ultimately became proficient in drawing team logos from memory

Drone Porn? It’s More Likely Than You Think!

While I certainly have my concerns regarding the use of drones (unmanned, robotic aircraft) as it relates to privacy and civil liberties, I have to admit I was intrigued by this use.  While perusing the latest issue of the online magazine named after me ("Esquire") I stumbled across ... wait for it ...  DRONE PORN!

Yessirree, boys and girls.  It was only a matter of time before drones were the latest technology to be used for pornographic purposes.

Without further ado, I present "Drone Boning."  'Nuff said.

Yakima-Area Marines Celebrate 239th Birthday of the Corps By Singing Marines’ Hymn in a Bar

Yesterday was the 239th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Since this is 2014 and the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, it doesn't take a math wiz to realize that the "jarheads" have been around longer than this land was separated from British rule.

Todd’s Take: A Veterans Day Ode To Those Who Send Our Troops Into Harm’s Way

“This book is to be neither an accusation nor a confession, and least of all an adventure, for death is not an adventure to those who stand face to face with it. It will try simply to tell of a generation of men who, even though they may have escaped shells, were destroyed by the war.”

Todd’s Take: Remembering the Veterans Who Put the “E” in Todd E. Lyons

Veterans Day is, obviously, today, but, more importantly, it's about remembering those who served. Some are no longer with us.

I'd like to share a couple of men whom I will especially be thinking of. In fact, they are the men that put the "E" in Todd E. Lyons.
