Todd Lyons

My name is Todd E. Lyons. On the radio you probably know me as “Todd E. Lyons, Esquire.” Every morning, hundreds of women wake up with me. I have shared the airwaves in the mornings (6 to 9) with you since 1998, and look forward to it every day. I was born in Seattle, the son of a sharecropper. My family and I moved to the “Fruit Bowl of the Nation” when I was a wee lad of only 7. I spent my formative years in the West Valley of Yakima, indoctrinated in public school. I became keenly familiar with the “special” desk while attending Apple Valley Elementary. The teachers referred to it as the “isolation booth,” but I called it the “special desk.” Most of what I know today, however, can be credited to the “School of Hard Knocks.” I am extremely fortunate to work on the very radio station I grew up listening to. I loved listening to KATS so much when I was younger that I not only was a client, I became an employee! If you ever see me stumbling about this great valley of ours, please give me a shout. I would love to talk with you and find out what you think about 94.5 KATS!

Happy Jackie Robinson Day

I often hear from friends and family that professional sports are not "important."  That if people cared as much about their communities as a whole as they did about whether or not their team won or lost, the world might be a better place.

I say that sports aren't, ultimately, important -- except when they are. If the Mariners win tonight will world peace be achieved?  Of course not. Can pro sports be a catalyst to affect social change for the better? Without a doubt.

Enter Jack Roosevelt Robinson.
