General David Petraeus, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, resigned today, citing a recent extramarital affair. President Obama, elected to a second term just days earlier, accepted Petraeus’s resignation and praised his leadership and service to his country.

At the age of 41, even I cannot believe the amount of technological advancement I have seen in my life. It's almost impossible to think what some of the older folks in our society have lived through. While I have, basically, grown up with home video and microwave ovens my entire life, there are some who still recall the days before indoor plumbing and electricity!
