California hard rock titans Avenged Sevenfold have unleashed the video for their latest single, "God Damn." The band blasts through the cut while playing live in a the middle of a real wild scene. All around the dudes, pits are starting and people are being slammed as the band performs the song from 2016's The Stage.

The Anders Rostad-directed clip, which premiered today via Billboard (watch by clicking above), was filmed in early 2017 with a bit of help from the band's fans. According to Billboard, Avenged Sevenfold diehards came from far and wide to take part in the new video and get busted up in the pit.

Frontman M. Shadows told Billboard the video was all about the fans, to push through to them how heavy and full of energy this particular song is. "Hey, this is a record we can wrap our heads around. It's cool live stuff. It's a rockin' song," he said.

As the video progresses from basic, bust-your-head live footage, things start getting wonky as the camera shifts and angles get weird. Images are distorted and nothing is as it seems. Check out the video for "God Damn" above.

Meanwhile, Avenged Sevenfold will be hitting the road with Metallica this summer. Shadows says the band was initially reluctant to push back their own headlining tour plans, but adds that the offer was one they couldn't pass up. "Lars [Ulrich] called me a few times to talk about this, and I said, 'Dude, we just spent, like, a million dollars on building our stage and now it's gonna have to sit in storage?'" Shadows laughingly told Billboard. "But the more we thought about it, what rock bands besides AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and Metallica get to play stadiums in 2017? So for me it's one of those things where the positives outweigh the negatives so much, so why not be part of the biggest rock tour of the summer and make it awesome for the fans, and then we can do our thing later." So be sure to catch Avenged Sevenfold on tour at these locations.
