After he was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital yesterday (April 6) due to complications from diabetes, B.B. King says he’s “feeling much better” and will be discharged from the hospital today, April 7. King shared the message in a post to his Facebook.

“I want to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes,” King wrote. “I’m feeling much better & am leaving the hospital today.”

The iconic blues singer and guitarist, who’s had Type II diabetes for nearly 20 years, was hospitalized after suffering from dehydration.

Unfortunately, it’s not the first time the 89-year-old artist has been sidelined by the disease. He displayed unusual behavior during a St. Louis concert in the spring of 2014 due to health issues for which he later issued an apology. His health then forced him to cancel all upcoming tour dates at the end of last year.

Our thoughts remain with King in hopes of his continued recovery.
