Featuring the likes of One Direction, Bastille, Ellie Goulding and U2’s Bono, the supergroup known as Band Aid 30 and their rendition of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ have a lot to celebrate this week. Their performance, which was organized and recorded by Bob Geldof, has sold more than 312,000 copies in the U.K., making it the year’s fastest-selling single. Listen to the song above.

Debuting at No. 1, Band Aid 30’s track outperformed the first-week sales of the 2004 edition (Band Aid 20) by nearly 15,000 copies. According to the Guardian, a spokesman for the Official Charts Company said, “Band Aid 20 sold 200,000 each week for its first four weeks on sale -- can Band Aid 30 keep up its sales momentum to beat its predecessor?”

The initial sales for Band Aid 30 are purely digital -- but with a physical version set for release in December, it looks like it could be on track for some massive numbers.

Sales of Band Aid 30’s performance of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ will benefit a charity that is fighting the Ebola outbreak in west Africa. Get details on the organization here.
