It looks as though story-based downloadable content for the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins has gotten the Flying Grayson treatment.

IGN reports that Warner Bros. has confirmed that the Wii U version of Arkham Origins will no longer be getting any more story-based downloadable content. Warner Bros. claims that the demand for DLC on the Wii U version of Origins simply did not warrant their development of the content for Nintendo's console.

The underwhelming response to the DLC of Batman: Arkham Origins can be attributed to the title's overall mediocre reception, its frequency for encountering game-breaking errors and the dismal amount of console sales for the Wii U.

Many fans disagreed with the handling of the "Initiation" DLC mainly because it was advertised as story-based content, but turned out to simply be a collection of challenge maps. Given how early in the Batman timeline Arkham Origins occurred, there were plenty of other first-encounter scenarios with Gotham super-villains that WB Montreal could have used for Origins' DLC.

Thankfully, anyone who purchased a Season Pass for the game on Wii U will be given a refund.
