Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi recently took part in an interview in his hometown of Birmingham, England. In the town hall style interview, Iommi pondered about Black Sabbath’s final show taking place in Birmingham.

The legendary metal band's ‘The End’ tour just stormed across North America for a string of arena shows. The Sabbath members are currently taking about a month off before starting up the machine once again in Australia and Europe. Sabbath will then return stateside for for a summer amphitheater run that is scheduled through a Sept. 21 show in Phoenix, Ariz. While that's the last date on their tour as of now, more gigs are expected to be added, and according to Iommi, the band's very last show may be in their hometown.

“We are off to Australia in a couple of weeks, but it would be nice to think it could finish back where it all started – in Birmingham,” Iommi told the town hall audience. “When we are home where we started, we have always found it a bit nerve-wracking, but Birmingham means such a lot to us.”

Iommi also spoke about the potential for a Black Sabbath live album recorded during ‘The End’ tour. “It’s possible,” Iommi said, “because we are doing a lot of filming during the tour, too.” As for the guitar icon’s favorite all-time riffs, Iommi mentioned “Paranoid,” “Iron Man” and “Into the Void.” [via Birmingham Mail]
