Coming out later this month is a smaller Commodore 64 full of 64 classic games C64 kids grew up with. I had a chance to check it out. Here's what I think.

First of all, I never had a Commodore 64 so I don't have that nostalgia factor to it as I did for the NES Classic or SNES Classic.

This device is smaller than a keyboard. The buttons on the device are purely cosmetic. They don't push in or anything, they're just there for looks. It comes with a joystick and you can plug in a USB keyboard for any game that uses a keyboard. If you don't want to plug one in, there's a virtual keyboard that you can pull up any time to type in your answers. It connects to the TV via HDMI and is powered by USB-Mini. Very standard.

The games that are included are, well, I'm sure people who grew up with them loved them. I do recognize a few that made it to other systems, but they play like I remember them looking. There are a few that are fun, but some I think you need to be there to enjoy them.

It's pretty neat. Not sure if it's worth the $80 price tag, but it's pretty neat.
