Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais is definitely being thrown into the fire. The musician has joined Anthrax's touring lineup after the exit of longtime axeman Rob Caggiano earlier this year, and during Friday's (April 12) performance in Orlando he stepped up by covering both Caggiano and fellow guitarist Scott Ian's parts during the show.
To prepare for the band's upcoming Rock in Rio performance, Iron Maiden have extended their 'Maiden England' tour to include some 2013 U.S. dates. After a brilliant string of North American shows last summer, Maiden will return to American soil once again in September with special guest Megadeth.
Metallica's Orion Music + More festival just got a little more awesome with the reveal of several new acts that have been added to the bill. Highlighting the new additions is the reunion of Robert Trujillo's onetime project Infectious Grooves.
Asking Alexandria has just released their "Don't Pray For Us" tour trailer. They will set off with White Chapel, Motionless In White, Chimaira, and I Killed the Prom Queen. The tours first stop is Wichita Kansas
Shinedown and Three Days Grace may be co-headlining their current tour, but the third act on the bill isn't exactly your average opener. Veteran hard rock outfit P.O.D. has been playing alongside the two bands throughout both legs of their touring, making for a solid trifecta of rock acts. P.O.D.'s sets are making it worthwhile to get there early, and the band has enjoyed a set crossover of late with Shinedown's Zach Myers joining their performances to play their cover of U2's 'Bullet the Blue Sky.'
It's almost that time of year again. Summer is coming up and for metal heads like me that means one thing. Rockstars Mayhem Festival is just around the corner. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm excited for this years Mayhem Fest
There's no doubt that Metallica love Motorhead, and now there's some additional video footage to prove it. Back in 1995, the Metallica members, decked out in long black-haired wigs, took the stage at Los Angeles' Whisky-a-Go-Go to play a set of Motorhead songs in honor of Lemmy Kilmister's 50th birthday. Now, the famous venue has just posted video from the performance on YouTube.
Now that Randy Blythe has been acquitted of all charges in his controversial Czech manslaughter case, Lamb of God have announced that they will be embarking on a U.S. tour this spring. In addition, the band has also planned a very unique mountain retreat for a select group of fans this summer.
