Father’s Day

Union Gap Old Town Days is an excellent celebration. There is so much to do on June 18 at Fulbright Park. The Celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. with the Union Gap Old Town Days parade on Main Street and First.

My dad's not big on celebrating Father's Day or even his own birthday (which was just about three weeks ago), but since he just turned 71 and, as he says, has more days behind him than ahead, I thought I'd at least give him some love on this here ol' website!

Here we go! Starting this week, another season of Downtown Summer Nights is set to fill your Thursday evenings with music and laughter all summer! The food will be excellent and so will the drinks! It all starts again this Thursday (June 16) from 5:30-9 p.m. at our new location -- Front Street.

Our armed forces are the reason why we live in a free country -- the great United States of America! We are free, and as long as our armed forces are around, we will always be free. Today (June 14) we celebrate the birth of our beloved United States Army! They are the largest of our armed forces as they serve us on the ground. June 14, 1775, is when the United States Army was formed.

Veterans Day is, obviously, today, but, more importantly, it's about remembering those who served. Many are no longer with us. I'd like to share a couple of men whom I will especially be thinking of. In fact, they are the men who put the "E" in Todd E. Lyons.

The four Yakima Bike Nights we whipped up (with help from Owen's Harley-Davidson, along with Sea Galley, Hoops Bar & Grill, Mickey's Pub and Jack-son's Sports Bar) were all tremendous successes. I'd like to thank everyone who turned out each week!

Seattle is becoming so much like San Fransisco or even Vegas without the gambling.  People with gauged lips, gauged noses, a woman with pumps and and hideous shorts and there is always someone with something crazy that has to do with the Seattle Seahawks.
