On the heels of the news that Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’ decimated the all-time highest weekend box-office record on Sunday, fans already started looking ahead to what Marvel Studios might have in store for a sequel. And while most follow-ups tend to go bigger, this bit of news suggests ‘The Avengers 2’ might go smaller. Much, much smaller.

April 13, 2012 I often refer to Friday as "movie day" - as in, new flicks get released to theaters every week on said day. This weekend, "Titanic 3-D" and "The Three Stooges" are the two films that have gotten the most hype going into the weekend.
As usual, Hollywood has once again proved that they have long since run out of new ideas for movies if these rehashes and remakes are our top options. I'll pass.
Now, on to picking a different film to blow my cash on. Hmmmmm....
Choosing a good movie shouldn’t be as tough as choosing a good doctor, but, unfortunately, not every flick leaves you feeling satisfied. Even with reviews, solid box office figures and word of mouth, figuring out what flick to watch is actually pretty hit or miss.

In 1984, a young Disney animator named Tim Burton directed his live-action debut, the short film ‘Frankenweenie.’ Disney planned for the short to run before a theatrical re-release of ‘Pinocchio,’ but once they screened the completed project, they fired Burton on the spot.

Dave Grohl has fashioned a documentary about the famed Sound City Studios – Nirvana‘s ‘Nevermind’ and Fleetwood Mac‘s ‘Rumors’ are part of the studio’s repertoire, to name few. A super short and not-very-informative but utterly evocative trailer has been released. It’s more of a teaser than anything.
Now that the holidays are officially dead and buried, studios are back to releasing new films at a brisk pace — and this weekend, you’ll have your choice of four.
