Dave Grohl sure has been busy on the late-night talk show circuit lately, what with appearances on 'Chelsea Lately,' 'The Colbert Report' and the 'Late Show with David Letterman' all in the last month or so. Add 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to that list, as Dave brought his Sound City Players there Tuesday night for a two-song performance that included Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Fortunate Son' (watch above) and Rick Springfield’s Sound City collaboration, 'The Man That Never Was' (watch below). CCR's John Fogerty and Rick Springfield were, of course, along for the ride.
Scott Weiland is currently out touring with his solo band, The Wildabouts, and it looks as though things will remain that way in the wake of his recent firing from Stone Temple Pilots. In a new interview, he reiterated his stance that "no one in the band can be fired" from the band, but he's now taking a more reflective approach to his time with the band.

The alt-rock (or grunge, if you wanna start some arguments) supergroup formed in 1994, when Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready met bassist John Baker Saunders at a Minneapolis rehab facility. The two became friends, and after moving back to Seattle, McCready tapped Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley and Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin to help them get something going.

In a possible premature move by someone at Alice Cooper's camp, a poster of a 'Masters of Madness: Shock Therapy Tour' baring the faces of the two rock stars has been unveiled within Cooper's official website.
