Chris Cornell will join Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Barrett Martin and the Seattle Symphony next month for a special concert titled ‘Sonic Evolution.' The show will feature Cornell and company performing three Mad Season songs as well as the debut of McCready’s original symphonic work titled ‘Waking the Horizon.’

The ‘Sonic Evolution’ event will feature the reunion of supergroup Mad Season, who will be joined by Chris Cornell for three tracks -- 'River of Deceit, ‘I Don’t Know Anything’ and ‘Long Gone Day.’ Martin and McCready were original members of Mad Season, while fellow Seattle favorite -- Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan -- will round out the band for the symphonic performance. The original Mad Season lineup featured late musicians Layne Staley on vocals and John Baker Saunders on bass.

The Seattle Symphony’s fourth annual ‘Sonic Evolution’ concert celebrates the past, present and future of music by bringing together different genres of music. Conductor Ludovic Morlot will lead the musicians and the Seattle Symphony in a debut performance of orchestral and solo arrangements of original Mad Season songs as well as the aforementioned McCready piece ‘Waking the Horizon.’

‘Sonic Evolution’ will take place on Jan. 30, 2015 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Tickets are available here.
