When you've got a new album on the way, it's best to get the word out in any way possible. But Coheed and Cambria's Claudio Sanchez recently ran into an unexpected opportunity on the streets of New York, playing an impromptu performance for a group of youngsters.

As seen in the video above, the Coheed and Cambria vocalist met up with a kindergarten class on a Brooklyn sidewalk and was asked to play for them. After debating for a bit what to play, he performs a little piece of an unreleased Coheed and Cambria track. Score one for these kiddies!

In other Coheed and Cambria news, the band just released a new lyric video for the song "Eraser" ahead of their album release. Drummer Josh Eppard says of the track, "To me, 'Eraser' embodies the music we grew up on maybe better than any other Coheed song to date. We were little sponges in the '90s when the Pumpkins and Nirvana were creating a landscape all their own. I hear those bands in our song 'Eraser' and I'm extremely proud of that." Check out the lyric video posted below.

"Eraser" is featured on Coheed and Cambria's The Color Before the Sun album. The disc is the band's first that steps outside of their overarching musical concept that has spanned the majority of their career. The disc is currently available for pre-order at Amazon, iTunes and GooglePlay ahead of its Oct. 16 street date. You can also pick up a limited deluxe edition box set release here.
