With dangerously cold temperatures forecast for the next few days, Yakima's Columbia Bank branch is calling attention to its Warm Hearts Winter Drive for local homeless shelters.

The drive, which continues through Dec. 31, seeks monetary donations (cash or check) or new winter warmup items -- coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, socks, scarves and blankets.

As of this week, the bank's campaign had raised more than $157,000 of its $160,000 goal. The funds will benefit 53 shelters and relief organizations across the Northwest, but donations remain in the communities from which they are received.

To help out or get more information, stop by the bank at 10 N. Fifth Ave., visit the campaign website at www.columbiabank.com/warmhearts or call 1-877-272-3678 or 509-494-1700.
