This just in … Courtney Love will not open for Limp Bizkit. Love recently pulled out of plans for her band Hole to join an arsenal of rock giants like System of a Down, Slipknot, Machine Head and A Day to Remember in February and March 2012 for the upcoming Soundwave Festival dates in Australia. Apparently she was not happy with where her band was located on the bill, more specifically opening for Limp Bizkit.

According to NME.com, Love took to Twitter to voice her displeasure directly to festival promoter A.J. Maddah saying, “What bloody flight of crazed fancy made you think we’d open for Limp Bizkit dude? No offence, that’s nuts.”

Maddah entertained her tweet with a response of his own, “Like we were going to ask her permission every time we book a band. No point taking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up and act like a rotten t— to other artists and fans. I am really mad about this. I was given so many assurances that this would not happen when I took the booking.”

So at this point, looks like there will be a hole where Hole was scheduled to play at Soundwave Festival. Maddah has “pledged to get someone bigger” to replace Hole for the shows, let’s hope whoever it is is a Limp Bizkit fan!

Hmmm … wonder what Fred Durst thinks?
