Davis Tops Richland In 4A Basketball Tourney Opener, 59-54

The eighth-ranked A.C. Davis Pirates boys basketball team took the first step toward a state championship Thurday by defeating the No. 4 Richland Bombers, 59-54, in a first-round matchup in the WIAA 4A tournament at the Tacoma Dome.

Nikhil Lizotte led Davis' scoring with 21 points.

The Pirates  now face Woodinville in a Friday afternoon game that tips off at about 3:45.  Woodinville eked by Kentwood, 58-57.
