Fans who check out Faith No More on tour will be greeted by a character the band calls “The Gimp.” Dressed all in leather with a mask, while standing onstage, Gimp’s identity is hidden from the audience. This past Thursday however, the mysterious and mute character was played by a famous musician whose identity has been revealed.

Former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan was the man behind the mask at Faith No More's Los Angeles show on April 23, and you can check out a video of his appearance with the band above. McKagan also shared a post with his Twitter fans, flipping the bird while showing off a side view of himself in a leather suit and what looks like a latex mask. Check that out below.

In less than a month, Faith No More will be releasing their first studio album since 1997. Sol Invictus, which means "unconquered sun" in Latin, drops on May 19. The group has been promoting their upcoming release with a tour and recently finished up a string of shows on the West Coast of the U.S. They’re taking a little break before they kick things off again in Chicago on May 7.

Bassist Bill Gould recently talked about their upcoming new album, saying, “I think through our experience as musicians over the years, I think what we’re doing reflects where we’ve gone since we made our last record as Faith No More. I think this kicks things up a notch.”

Gould continued, “And I think there’s parts that are very powerful and there’s parts that have a lot of ‘space.’ Everything we do, with our chemistry, the way we play; it’s always going to sound like us. It’s just what we do, that makes us feel good.“
