My name is Elizabeth Fernandez and I’m organizing the 1st Annual Yakima Walk-a-Thon to raise awareness and money for the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA). It is the only national non-profit that is dedicated to Childhood Apraxia of Speech; a motor speech disorder.
This is the first event like this in Washington! We are striving for great participation to kick off our first year. Our organization would love to have you join the walk on Saturday, October 5th, 2013. It is a great family event that includes a walk on a paved trail in Kissel Park; plus there are many activities planned for both kids and adults.
We are currently looking for company, team and/or individual sponsorships, as well as, teams and individuals to help at the event. Childhood Apraxia of Speech is not well known within our communities. We are hoping to change this. There are many children and families who struggle with this speech disorder every day. They deserve the best care they can receive and with the help of so many people like you, these kids are finding their voices! It is amazing to see how this has such positive impacts on them.
