A few days ago, it was announced that former Megadeth members Nick Menza and James LoMenzo have been working on a new project together. The nature of the duo's collaborative efforts isn't quite clear, but the Menza / LoMenzo project has just unleashed a cover of Metallica's 'Motorbreath.'

Nick Menza cemented his legendary status while playing for Megadeth from 1989-1998 and once again briefly in 2004. Menza's masterful percussion can be heard on iconic Megadeth albums such as 'Rust in Peace' and 'Countdown to Extinction.' James LoMenzo's contributions to the 'Big 4' band came during 2006-2010, playing on Megadeth's 'United Abominations' and 'Endgame' albums.

Menza and LoMenzo's rough version of 'Motorbreath' also features guitarist / vocalist Davor Garašić from Croatian thrash act Sufosia. So far, the cover has received a very positive reaction from listeners, and many are even calling for other former Megadeth musicians to join the project.

"James is a top-notch player with a killer sound and I'm totally pumped and looking forward to creating some heavy original material with him once we officially solidified the rest of the line up," Menza tells BraveWords. "Things are still in the developing stages soon as James fulfills his touring obligations with John Fogerty we will sink our teeth into this project. Right now we are having some fun and collaborating with other players from around the world via the internet to see what's out there, nothing is set in stone…"

LoMenzo adds, "I've been a fan of Nick's drumming for a long time. Nick is a great guy and he's one of metal's stand out drummers. It's an honor and a privilege to be making music with him and I look forward to what we'll create."
