For some strange reason, I thought I could sail through the Central Washington State Fair without spending lots of cash, but boy, was I wrong about that.

I had a budget of $80 and I almost immediately ran out of money.

The price of admission apparently varies. It is $10 during the week, but it rises to $15 on Saturdays and Sundays. (I went on a Saturday.)

The cost of unlimited ride wristbands went up from $25 (presale price only) to $35. I bought one of those for my 4-year-old daughter, Willow.

Parking is $15 in the State Fair Park lots or $5 to park in front of somebody's house. (I parked on a side street for free!)

Food prices vary. I bought a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich ($8.50) and a slushy ($4, with $2 refills).

And then we went to the dinosaur exhibit and found out there was an extra $5 entry fee, so that was an unexpected $10 gone from my budget.

Plus, I had to buy $8 worth of extra ride tickets because Willow couldn't ride by herself on two rides.

All in all, I spent nearly $120.

My budget was shot to hell in the first 60 minutes! LMAO!
