Foo Fighters continued their promotional assault today (Dec. 3) by playing Howard Stern’s satellite radio show. They rocked out with their new 'Sonic Highways' single ‘Something From Nothing’ as well as ‘Learn to Fly,’ the classic hit off their ‘Nothing Left to Lose’ album.

The appearance also included an interview with Stern as the band told stories about encounters with legends such as Prince, David Bowie and Paul McCartney. In reflecting on McCartney, Grohl laughed about the Beatles legend coming to his house and becoming keenly aware of how much Beatles memorabilia he had lying around.

"There was a coffee table book, my kids had posters, there’s the song book on the piano," recalls Grohl. "I felt like a stalker, it was a little weird."

The vocalist also spoke about patching up his longtime feud with Courtney Love. The pair famously made up onstage at Nirvana's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction earlier this year.

"I can't hang onto that kind of s--t, man," said Grohl. "Life's too short and things are great and we saw each other at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thing." When Stern asked if it was a friendship or a truce, Grohl replied, "It's a friendship because we saw each other not too long ago and sat and got trashed together, drank a bunch of tequila and had a lot of fun."

Grohl is set to join Jon Stewart tonight (Dec. 3) on ‘The Daily Show’ and the band is playing ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Thursday (Dec. 4).

Foo Fighters are out supporting their latest album ‘Sonic Highways’ as well as their HBO series of the same name. The band recently announced a major North American tour set to kick off in 2015. Dates can be found here.
