Star Wars Rebels won’t officially conclude its fourth and final season until 2018, but both Rogue One and the animated Forces of Destiny have offered tantalizing clues. Now, the latest short definitively answers the fate of several Rebels figures beyond Rogue One, and potentially into the new trilogy.

You’re warned of minor spoilers for Rogue One, Rebels and Forces of Destiny from here on out, but the latter finally released the “Imperial Feast” short that unites Rebels’ Hera Syndulla with Han Solo and Leia after the Battle of Endor. The confirmed-canonical three-minute short was announced months ago, revealing that Hera survived the events of Rogue One through at least Return of the Jedi.

Now, “An Imperial Feast” also confirms that Hera still pilots the Ghost with Chopper by her side, where Rogue One only showed the ship and droid onscreen separately, and mentioned “General Syndulla” over a Yavin IV intercom. Neither Rebels boss Dave Filoni nor story head Pablo Hidalgo have confirmed who was actually crewing the Ghost in the Battle of Scarif (which won’t be revisited within the series), nor did we see if the ship survived Darth Vader’s arrival.

Fans are understandably worried for the remaining Star Wars Rebels characters (particularly Hera’s Jedi partner, Kanan), given their absence from any of the major Star Wars films. Hera piloting the Ghost through Return of the Jedi raises hope that Sabine, Zeb, Kanan or Ezra might also operate unseen within the Star Wars films, leaving open the possibility of a return during The Force Awakens and Last Jedi era as well.

We’re trying not to read too much into the weary resolve of her voice, but are Hera, Chopper and the Ghost’s appearances post-Return of the Jedi a good sign? Might we see what became of them around the First Order and Resistance as well?
