Fundraiser for Geppetto’s Employees at Franklin Park on June 18th
On Wednesday, June 12th, Geppetto’s Italian Bistro was devastated by a fire. Owners wish to rebuild due to the outpouring of community support, but that will take many months.
The entire staff is now unemployed, and a fundraiser has been set up to help them all in their financial need. One Geppetto’s staff member and other community members are handling all details of the fundraiser. None of the proceeds are being used to rebuild or support the restaurant in any way. 100% of the profits will be divided among the employees only.
Local nonprofit group, I Heart Yakima has agreed to serve as intermediary for the dispersal of funds to the employees. As of 5pm, Friday, June 14th, all items needed for the event have been donated or paid for by donations from other local businesses and/or individuals.
The event is free to the public, with food and beverage available for purchase. There will also be live music for the entertainment of the guests.
