GWAR have made one fine addition to this year's Warped Tour. Setting yourself apart from nearly 100 bands can be difficult, but not for the mass-murdering Scumdog metal outfit. At a recent stop on the tour, the band extended their savage ways beyond their set, crashing American Authors' performance to claim one more life.

As the 2017 Warped Tour was winding down, the Saturday stop in San Diego was the second to last one of the trek, but GWAR's slave crew and singer Blothar ensured it would be the absolute last for American Authors frontman Zac Barnett. While set closer "Best Day of My Life" played out, Sawborg Destructo and Blothar took over, putting a sword to the throat of Barnett, allowing Blothar to take over as the temporary lead singer. "It's the best day of my life," the Scumdog barked out, then changing the lyric to, "It's the last day of your life."

"It's all fun and games until GWAR murders your lead singer," the band wrote on Facebook, where the footage was posted.

This wasn't the first time GWAR had crashed another band's set during this exhaustive summer tour. In early July at the New Jersey stop, the group interrupted Sileverstein's performance to knock off bassist Billy Hamilton. He was then replace by Beefcake the Mighty, who joined the post-hardcore vets in playing their new single "Ghost."

It's been a fun summer for the band, who announced their new album would be titled The Blood of Gods, targeting a fall release. The details surrounding the first GWAR album with Blothar replacing the late Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie) have yet to arrive, but the band has served up a preview, performing the new track "F--k This Place" live on Warped Tour.
