Dia de Muertos, or "Day of the Dead," is being celebrated by my Mexican brothers and sisters. The holiday is for family and friends to gather around and pray for and remember those who have died. It is basically to help support their spiritual journey!
Before Spanish colonization in the 16th century, the holiday was celebrated in the summer. It was moved to co-exist with the Western Christian culture's marking of All Saints Eve, All Saints Day and All Souls Day which are Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.

Dia de Muertos celebrantsl bring sugar skulls, marigolds and the favorite foods and beverages of the deceased to honor them.

Happy 'Day of The Dead.' And if you are dead, have a happy spiritual journey!
