I love going to the sports bar to watch my beloved Edmonton Oilers. My frustration, which I believe I share with anyone who's ever been to a sports bar or a coffee house or the airport and seen something interesting come on the screen is that you can't hear the sound because they usually mute their TV's so as to not bother other patrons.

So right then and there I thought I had my million dollar idea. I was already planning to retire in St. Croix. I just had to figure out how to get the audio from my TV to my smartphone. I figured you would need a device similar to Google's Chromecast that I would have to plug into the external audio output port on the back of my TV and then it would send a bluetooth or wifi signal of some kind my phone would receive. Wrong.

Like most of my million dollar ideas however someone already beat me to the punch and did it in a way so much cooler than anything I could think of. It's a FREE app called Tunity available at the app store on your iPhone or Android. All you do is hold it up to the TV you want to hear and scan the screen. Through some kind of sorcery it actually pulls up the audio for whatever it is you're watching!

At a sports bar but your game isn't what is playing on the speakers in the bar, tune it in with Tunity. At an airport but can't hear CNN or Fox News on the TV in the terminal, tune it in with Tunity. At a coffee shop and want to hear the cooking channel on their muted TV, tune it in with Tunity.

By the way, this isn't an advertisement, neither I nor the radio station is receiving anything from this and the app is free so I'm not even sure how the app's developers make a dime. I just found it today and it's badass! You're welcome!
