If you're in the mood for some fair fun but don't want to wait until later on in the fall, never fear: the Highland Country Fair is here! This Friday (June 1) from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. looks to have something for the whole family. Changing from Highland Community Days, which usually took place in late August, the move and name change has helped ramp up community involvement and attendance since it's beating the summer vacation rush.

Live music courtesy of American Honey and the Olson Brothers Band will be just some of the entertainment on stage. Along with an open mic for the community, enjoy laughs from the Yakima Valley College improvisation team "Adults Who Can't Adult."

There's still a parade, too -- run by Larry Buchanan Sr. -- that kicks off at 9:45 Saturday morning. The fun also includes vendors selling handcrafted items, 4-H animal displays, games for kiddos and kiddos at heart (bingo, ring toss, dime booth, pinatas), and of course FOOD!
