Death metal luminaries Immolation have been spilling blasphemy for nearly 30 years, navigating some of the most complex and destructive riffing along the way. With their 10th full length, Atonement, set to arrive on Feb. 24, fans can get another peak at what's ahead with the lyric video for the slow-burning "Fostering the Divide."

With the subtlety of a cinder block to the chest, the song opens with walloping low end, carefully placed muted chugs and a flurry of double kicks. Immolation slide these opening moments into the verse as Ross Dolan's inimitable gurgled guttural begins to tell the woes of a world currently more divided than ever. The tension finally breaks when Immolation pick up the pace over the solo and throughout the rest of the song with twisted, contorting riffs, offering contrasting moments in each half of "Fostering the Divide."

"Atonement is a very dark and haunting album both musically and lyrically, commenting on the darker side of humanity and the world today," said Dolan. "Each song on this album is unique in its own way, offering the listener a wide range of dark and sinister passages that I think really hone in on all the elements that make this band what it is."

Pre-orders for Atonement can be placed at the Nuclear Blast webstore. Catch Immolation on tour providing support for Max and Iggor Cavalera's Return to Roots with a list of remaining stops found at our 2017 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
