The 2016 edition of Lollapalooza is officially in the books following the July 28 - 31 weekend in Grant Park in Chicago, Ill. Jane's Addiction played a powerful set on Saturday (July 30), performing Ritual de lo Habitual in its entirety as well as bringing up special guests Tom Morello and Jimmy Chamberlin onstage.

Morello, the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and the newly formed Prophets of Rage, hopped onstage with his signature "Arm the Homeless" guitar, tearing into the Jane's Addiction classic "Mountain Song," as seen in the video above. The axeman's stomping stage presence was purely sublime when positioned against the song's mechanical rhythm.

Three songs later, Smashing Pumpkins skinsman Jimmy Chamberlin sat behind the kit as Jane's Addiction closed out their set with "Jane Says." In the video directly below, frontman Perry Farrell is informed the group will be bringing up the icon, repeating into the microphone "Jimmy who? Jimmy who?" before his bandmate says "Mr. Jimmy Chamberlin on drums!." Farrell asks "From where?" to which the reply is "From the band the Smashing Pumpkins!." They go through the routine again, asking where Chamberlin in from as they relay to the crowd that the drummer is from the festival's home of Chicago.

The collaborations weren't unique to just Jane's Addiction. Morello also joined alternative rockers X Ambassadors at the festival (video below). First he took the microphone and addressed the crowd, imploring them to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza before he said, "We've got a song right now that's gonna mess you up!" The familiar melody of "Collider" came pouring through the PA system to an increasingly electric crowd.
