The soldiers of the Washington National Guard are citizens like you and me who dedicate their time to serving our military. They train a few weekends a year in order to be ready in case an emergency strikes Eastern Washington. They also do rotations assisting the full-time military in theaters of conflict.

Ben Ashworth lives in Spokane and has a rare job -- even though he's a citizen soldier his paycheck comes from serving in the guard's Honor Guard. He is married and enjoys drawing and reading.
