So after a Wisconsin radio station announced it wouldn't play any Seattle music until after this weekend's NFC championship game between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks, I decided to call them out.

Or at least call them up.

I phoned WLWK (which, like KATS, is ALSO at 94.5 on the FM dial!) in Milwaukee and spoke with "The Lake's" midday DJ -- named J.J. -- to see what he had to say for himself, and to see if he'd be interested in making a little wager on the game.

He was straight and to the point, admitting that he's hoping the musical ban helps his hometown Packers win in Seattle this Sunday.

When I told him he was banning a LOT of good rock music but that we couldn't think of much we'd be losing if we banned Wisconsin music, he suggested that maybe we could ban anyone who plays a Les Paul guitar -- since that's where Les Paul was from. (Luckily, he didn't mention banning Milwaukee-made Harley-Davidsons, 'cause that would be tough for me! HA!)

But no matter. We ended up making that friendly bet. Whoever's team wins the NFC championship will have to send the other a six-pack of locally brewed beer. (J.J. would get Bale Breaker, I'd get Miller Lite.)

Oh, and I did remind him that most of Wisconsin's famous breweries rely on Yakima Valley hops.

Anyway, I hope he gets his postage ready on that package of beer because the Hawks are going all the way. Believe that!
