On the final stop of the 12 city “CARE” tour Kid Rock announced the local recipients of a portion of the more than $400,000 dollars to be donated. Kid Rock has assembled a team of Detroit titans to show support for other cities in need, and to show that Detroit, while experiencing its own difficulties still has the power to unite to help others around the country. Kid Rock, in association with this powerhouse group of local Detroit business people, will donate money to local charities, causes and individuals via the Kid Rock Foundation, all along every stop of his underplay club tour. Radio station partners in each tour market will help determine those individuals and organizations in need.

Spokane’s recipients are: Northwest Autism Center and Second Harvest Food Bank.

About Northwest Autism Center: Northwest Autism Center exists to support, facilitate and build accessible and comprehensive, community-based approaches to helping children and adults with autism spectrum disorders in the Inland Northwest. Funds would be used 1) to purchase IPADs for children enrolled in their Domino Project Preschool who are nonverbal or experiencing severe speech and language delay; 2) for families, therapists and teachers needing consultation and training in autism treatment and intervention especially in rural areas; 3) for 3 free screening days held over a 9 month period.

About Second Harvest Food Bank: Second Harvest Food Bank is dedicated to ending local hunger. Our annual signature fundraiser "Taking a Bite Out of Hunger" takes place on March 21, 2012. 100% of the proceeds are utilized to directly provide food resources to children, adults and seniors in Benton and Franklin Counties who are daily challenged by hunger and food insecurity. The money will be utilized to acquire food resources to be donated directly in the counties we serve. All food is distributed at no cost to the recipients.
